Perry Moore has died, age 39 Gay author and film producer Perry Moore has died after he was found unconscious in his New York apartment. The 39-year-old wrote Hero, a book about a gay teenage superhero, which won a Lambda Literary Award best novel prize. The proud Christian was also an executive producer of The Chronicles of Narnia films. Police say Moore was found unconscious in the bathroom of his Greenwich Village apartment by his partner Hunter Hill. He died later in hospital. Investigators say they do not suspect foul play. Moore's father, Bill Moore, told the New York Daily News that he was shocked. “We're in shock,” Bill Moore said. “I spoke to my son the night before. He was in a great, great mood. No one was expecting this. We're so sad. He's been able to reach out and touch a lot of people.” An initial autopsy has proved inconclusive and a medical examiner's investigation into his death continues.
