2.49PM: The free air conditioned bus service provided to convey people from the Ponsonby and Karangahape Roads area to the Get It On Big Gay Out has been overwhelmed by the huge crowds continuing to head to the Pt Chevalier Event. A Big Gay Out spokesperson says the demand for the bus service is unprecedented and it has unfortunately had to drive past many waiting people as it was already full. Some folk are believed to have been waiting in the heat for an hour or more. Get It On says it has scrambled resources and contracted more buses which are due to join the route almost immediately. Meanwhile a surprise MC has joined the stage to wild acclaim from the crowd, after opera singer Joseph Gardener had performed. TVNZ star presenter Alison Mau, who came out as bisexual late last year, is currently doing a stint as guest MC. GayNZ.com is bringing you live reports throughout this afternoon as the Big Gay Out unfolds, with Wi Fi connected reporters and photographers on site. A base of operations for our reporters is kindly supplied by GABA, the Gay Auckland Business Association, in their VIP Hospitality Tent.
