Here is our guide to the Get It On! Big Gay Out, so you can ensure you make the most of your day! Where and when: Coyle Park in Auckland's Point Chevalier from midday till 7pm. Getting there and back: If you are in Auckland you can get your mates together and carpool, but if you plan to do that get to Pt Chevalier early so you don't have to hike for hours with your chilli bin, chairs, boyfriend, best friend, fag hag, picnic, umbrella, kitchen sink and Aunty Pat. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare ... but luckily the folks at Family Bar have put on a free bus from right outside their door on central K' Rd to and from Coyle Park. If you plan to drink TAKE THE BUS ... we DO NOT LIKE drink drivers, ok? If you're in Hamilton then you are totally sorted thanks to the awesome crew at Shine, who have arranged the Big Gay Bus to and from the Big Gay Out. The big old bus chugs out of Hamilton at 10am from Shine Nightclub - get there 15 minutes early cause the drive will not wait. The return bus leaves at 7.30pm from Coyle Park. Tickets are $40 from the bar. Diva Cologne, Miss Drag Waikato 2010 will host the ride and BYO alcohol may be consumed responsibly on board. If you're anywhere else in the country get on your bike, pack up the car or jump in a plane - just get to Auckland! DO NOT FORGET your gold coin for entry! Don't be one of those "oh no, I only have Eftpos" people!!! What to do when you get there Dumb plan: Consume every single substance you can get your hands on before getting anywhere near Coyle Park and be so chopped you wake up on Thursday without remembering anything you did .... OR you could NOT be a numbskull and do any or all of the following (and actually enjoy them!). Hit the markets: It's always fun to send someone away with the challenge of finding you a present from the Big Gay Out stalls. There are endless delights ... endless. Support hate crime victims: The GABA stall will be selling items to raise funds for Managawhai Heads arson victims Lindsay and Juliet. Please buy something or make a donation. And look out for Juliet and Lindsay - they've had a hard time and life isn't much easier so give them a hug! The same goes for Dave and Kym who were driven out of their Christchurch bakery by hatemongers - they will also be at the Big Gay Out and would love some community solidarity. Written and oral: Men who sleep with men, researchers want to know everything about your sex life and they also want a swab of your saliva. The oral and written exams are all for vital statistics which will ultimately help HIV/AIDs prevention work, so get out your pens and stick out your tongue for the researchers! Check out the talent on the main stage: Headliner Anika Moa is of course unmissable at 6pm, as is the Kelly Rice-led balls-out lesbian rock covers band Razor who will get the stage nice and warmed up for Ms Moa. The full line-up is available here and includes everything from South Side Family and the Finale Girls to the Kelston Kweens and La Salle Divas. With Cindy of Samoa and Miss Ribena both listed as MCs alongside Tess Tickle and Steven Oates, well, it could go all Mary J and be No More Drama ... or it could go the other way and be something fresh out of a Kelis video. We are hoping for the former option. Cool down: with a swim at the beach if you are brave, or a ride down the lube slide if you are daring! Perve: at the cops ... come on, everyone loves a uniform! Tenting: If you feel like dancing the Lolabar, Caluzzi and Urge Dance Tent is definitely the place to be. If you fancy chilling out with a cold one head to the Urge and Caluzzi Beer Garden. And there is also the GABA and NZAF VIP tent where you can perve at politicians and other such interesting folk. Who to look out for: Anika Moa will be there - but will her partner Azaria Universe who is pregnant with their twin babies?! What other celebrities might you spot in the crowd? If you see someone AMAZING send your pictures in to GayNZ.com... and by celebrities no we don't mean the hot guy who works at your local bar. Of course it's election year so expect politicians galore ... can John Key top his antics of the past two years?
