The trans-Tasman trans legend is in St Vincent's Hospital's Rehabilitation Unit, recovering from surgery. "They are trying to help me walk again which I find very painful but a girl has to do what she must," she has written in a Facebook update. Rupe has lost more weight and her recovery is expected to be long and slow. She has thanked all those who have sent her kind wishes. "Love you all," she concludes.
