The Australian tropical glbt resort hammered by cyclone Yasi has begun to pick up the pieces and expects to re-open this Wednesday after suffering "plenty of tree damage but nothing structural to the buildings." A spokesperson for the beachfront resort says there was no injury to guests or staff. "Myself and the owners bunkered down during the cyclone in two of our middle level rooms. We boarded the windows and stocked up on plenty of food, drink and of course beer. During the main part of the cyclone we didn't really hear a peep all night - until we left to inspect the damage. Lucky we were closed for renovations - so there were no guests in house at all." The spokesperson says power finally came back on Saturday night, "so no power, water and showers for 3 days." However, the resort is now "fully cleaned up" and will be re-open from Wednesday onwards.
