Shrien and Anni Dewani Shrien Dewani, the wealthy UK businessman accused of arranging his new wife's murder during their South African honeymoon, is apparently is too ill to attend an extradition hearing in London overnight, New Zealand time. Dewani, 31, has been rumoured to be a closeted gay who married his wife, Anni, under pressure from his family. She was shot dead in what South African police believe was a staged 'kidnapping gone wrong.' It is unclear whether any motive for the murder will emerge during the hearing. Dewani has claimed his innocence and also claims he cannot receive a fair trial in South Africa. Meanwhile, South African police have been questioning a German leather rent boy, now resident in the UK, who has provided a signed statement claiming he was paid £1,100 for three gay sex sessions with Dewani in Britain.
