McD's action leaves GLBT groups satisfied

Wed 12 Jan 2011 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

GLBT groups whose sites were blocked by McDonald's' Wifi provider are satisfied with the fast food giant's quick move to allow access. Sites which were banned included those of Rainbow Youth, the Gay Auckland Business Association and Agender. Agender says the company was quick to respond and it saw no real problem, other than a "bought in software package with too many word exclusions". McDonald's is struggling with a decision on access to GayNZ.com due to some of the site's advertisements, but has offered to meet with GayNZ.com to discuss possible ways forward, an offer GayNZ.com is taking up.
