Queen Aaron New Zealand's premier glbt camping spot is packed to overflowing and preparing for a party night this evening to usher in the new year. Longtime camper Calum Bennachie of Wellington says he estimates there are around 400 glbt campers already in residence, with their tents and caravans spilling over from the area usually considered the 'gay' end of the DOC reserve at Vinegar Hill and into the 'straight' end. He says a storm earlier in the week didn't affect the campers too much and the weather then has been excellent. The atmosphere amongst the cajmpers is friendly and relaxed and there have so far been none of the problems caused by rural hoons invading the camp as has happened in some years past. A Queen's cocktail party was held last night, hosted by the outgoing Queen of Vinegar Hill, Queen Aaron A new Queen will be crowned at the bonfire, entertainment and party night tonight.
