Dot's to close, but going out with a bang

Wed 22 Dec 2010 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

The owners of Auckland bar Dot's have announced it is to close, with New Year's Eve to be its final night. Peter Taylor and his partner Rodney Coleman moved their business Dorothy's Sister from Ponsonby Rd to Symonds St late last year and renamed the bar Dot's. The two-level venue has hosted numerous events over the past year, from drag shows to musical theatre nights, pulling in diverse, friendly crowds. Taylor and Coleman want to 'go out with a bang and drink the bar dry' on New Year's Eve and want to make their last night a good one as a thank you to all their supporters and friends. "Fuck the togas, come as you are and be ready to rock the house one last time," the couple say on the bar's Facebook page.
