Lesbian motherhood flick up for Globes

Annette Bening and Julianne Moore in The Kids Are Alright A film which deals with issues that can arise when the children of lesbian parents become teenagers has been nominated for four Golden Globes. The Kids Are All Right is up for Best Motion Picture: Comedy or Musical, Best Performance by an Actress in the same genre for both Annette Bening and Julianne Moore and Best Screenplay for writer/director Lisa Cholodenk. Black Swan, which had plenty of buzz due to the sexual dynamic between its two leads Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, has also been nominated for four awards, including Best Motion Picture: Drama, two for Best Actress as well as a directing nomination for Darren Aronofsky. Burlesque is up for Best Comedy or Musical and has two nominations for Best Original Song. It features Stanley Tucci as an out club manager. The Italian film I Am Love is nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film. It stars Tilda Swinton as a mother inspired to reconsider her own life choices after discovering that her daughter is a lesbian. In the TV categories, Glee picked up a total of five nominations, including acting nominations for out actors Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer. Modern Family nabbed a Best Comedy nomination and a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Emmy-winner Eric Stonestreet for his portrayal of a gay dad.
