The New Zealand AIDS Foundation has completed interviews for short-listed candidates for the role of Executive Director following the departure of Rachael Le Mesurier, who held the role for seven years. The NZAF says there will be an announcement of either an appointment or further recruitment before Christmas. The Foundation's looking for "an enthusiastic communicator and experienced advocate with a proven ability to motivate and empower staff." Strategic thinking and an ability to "build relationships with all our stakeholders" as well as a strong track record of organisational management and leadership" are deemed essential. In the interim the responsibilities of Executive Director have been split between Director HIV Prevention and Communications Simon Harger-Forde and Director Positive Health Services Eamonn Smythe. Both Harger-Forde and Smythe have frequent communication with, and are being supported by, the NZAF Trust Board. You can discuss this New Zealand gay community news story in the GayNZ.com Forum
