The search for a successor to the recently resigned Executive Director of the NZ AIDS Foundation has begun in earnest, with the position described as offering "new opportunities for service development and innovation." Rachael Le Mesurier, the current Executive Director resigned last month after seven years in the position. The Foundation has only had three chiefs since its inception 25 years ago at the start of the HIV epidemic. According to the Foundation's website the successful applicant will be "an enthusiastic communicator and experienced advocate with a proven ability to motivate and empower staff." Strategic thinking and an ability to "build relationships with all our stakeholders" as well as a strong track record of organisational management and leadership" are deemed essential. The Executive Director reports directly to the Trust Board of the NZAF which is in turn accountable to the Foundation's membership base.
