QWU hosts Buffy and Bimbo The final sequins are being sewn on and nails sharpened ahead of the most fiercely contested beauty pageant in the cosmos. Queen of the Whole Universe will once again take over the stage at Auckland's ASB Theatre at 8pm tonight. Those attending the queer beauty pageant will be treated to a special preview performance from the cast of The Rocky Horror Show. QWU Creative Director Jonathan Smith speaks highly of this collaborative effort. "There is great synergy between the two shows so it is fabulous that we are able to work together. This is very exciting for me and the QWU cast and crew, what an amazing way to end the Auckland show." Excitement is building among the performers and contestants, with some even taking to Facebook and Twitter to promise they will "shake their sexy asses". (Note: Earlier concerns over a performers strike which may have seen the show moved to Australia appear to have eased, with the contestants now focusing on out-fabulousing one another rather than fighting show organisers.)
