Two Israeli women have been paired together for a series of Strictly Come Dancing, the first same-sex couple to compete in the show. Gili Shem Tov, an openly gay TV sportscaster, is dancing with professional female dancer Dorit Milman in the latest series of the popular show. The 34-year-old insisted on being placed with a female partner while competing in the show because 'it felt natural'. "This is my way of life and this is my agenda, and I wanted to express it," she said. "For me it felt natural. I live with a woman, we are raising my son. It's not an issue. "If by doing that even a few people will be more tolerant and open-minded, I achieved my goal." The pair performed their first dance together dressed identically in a dress and fishnet stockings. Milman, who is straight, said she was thrilled to be competing with Shem Tov and hoped it would influence people to be more tolerant and open-minded.
