Radio jock Mike Puru A bungy jump off the Auckland Harbour Bridge with Mike Puru and two nights at Koromiko Homestay are among the items which will go under the hammer at the Urge Slave Auction this Saturday. The K' Rd bar is still looking for final items and volunteers for the charity event, which is raising funds for Help Out in October and will be a crucial event in helping reach the fundraiser's $25,000 target. Urge co-owner Alan Granville says a host of gay and gay friendly businesses have already donated to the auction. “We have had a great response so far, but we are keen for a couple of more items for the night,” he says. “A big thanks to GABA, who have helped collect some of the lots.” “Anyone interested can email urgebar@ihug.co.nz. Our ‘slaves' only need to be on stage presenting the items.” Help Out In October is raising money for at-risk gay charities Body Positive, OUTLine, Charlotte Museum and Rainbow Youth. Last year's Slave Auction raised $6,000 for OUTLine. Saturday's event starts at 10.30pm at 490 K' Rd.
