Thu 21 Oct 2010 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback View at NDHA

The cast of The Rocky Horror Show will perform before the Queen of the Whole Universe is crowned at the Auckland show on November 6. They will showcase one of the classics from the celebrated musical, ahead of the Rocky Horror season at the Civic from November 9. The cast includes the show's creator Richard O'Brien as the narrator. Queen of the Whole Universe Creative Director Jonathan Smith speaks highly of the collaborative effort: "There is great synergy between the two shows so it is fabulous that we are able to work together. This is very exciting for me and the QWU cast and crew, what an amazing way to end the Auckland show." All-male dance group Nancy Boys will also be guest performers at the beauty pageant with a difference. The dancers individually have recently finished working on the World of Wearable Arts in Wellington. Jesse, Daniel, Adam and Duncan will perform a piece based broadly around the concept of the musical Jersey Boys. QWU organisers say with founder Jesse Wikiriwhi having performed with the likes of Footnote Dance, Candy Lane and Dancers and Okareka Dance Company, the audience can expect something very special from the “Nancies” this year.
