The awards will be presented at a black tie ceremony incorporated into the Saturday night of the Hui Takatāpui, which is being held at Wellington's Pipitea Marae on 29‐31 October. NZAF Executive Director Rachael Le Mesurier says, "We're expecting a great turnout at the National Takatāpui Awards and Hui which will include community leaders, media and the general public. We're really looking forward to an event that promises to be a wonderful celebration of takatāpui diversity." The awards recognise outstanding achievement in the takatāpui community. Last minute votes are still being cast, with nominations in the fields of sport, fashion and design, youth, arts and culture, academic, music, hauora and lifetime achievement closing at 5pm today.
