Graham Capill in court Anti-gay rights campaigner and high profile Christian political party leader Graham Capill is to re-apply for parole five years into a nine year paedophilia sentence for molesting young girls. Capill, who whipped up virulent anti-gay sentiment throughout the 1990s and the first half of this decade, was convicted in 2005 on charges of sexually molesting three young girls aged between five and eleven. He claims the sexual activity with one of the girls was consensual. Capill rose to become leader of the then-high profile Christian Heritage Party and campaigned on a Christian morals platform to get into Parliament. The party is now defunct but at its peak Capill was frequently quoted in the media espousing 'family values' which he claimed equal rights for glbt people would destroy. Last year his application for parole was declined on the grounds that he had not undergone any sex offender rehabilitation programmes whilst in prison. Next month's application will be his third bid for early release.
