Denis Phillips The teenage boy accused of murdering temporary sworn police officer Denis Phillips has reappeared in court. Phillips was found dead in his Papakura home on Saturday. The 59-year-old was often seen at a number of gay bars and clubs in central Auckland. The 16-year-old boy accused of his murder appeared briefly in the Papakura Youth Court this afternoon. He was remanded in custody for four weeks. As is standard with the Youth Court, heavy suppression orders are in place. The media cannot publish anything which may identify the accused, nor any details of the circumstances of Phillips' death.
