Peter Stichbury's Powell Budnick (Lost in Miami) Works by Michael Parekowhai and Shane Cotton will next week go under the hammer in an auction to raise money for the New Zealand AIDS Foundation's HIV prevention initiatives. NZAF is hosting For The Love of Art in conjunction with Art + Object. Peter Stichbury has donated a piece of work from his personal collection, Powell Budnick (Lost in Miami), as well as a limited edition print. There are also pieces up for auction from Sam Mitchell, Saskia Leek, John Reynolds, Michael Harrison, Gavin Hipkins, Gavin Hurlet, et al., Andrew Barber, Richard Maloy, Francis Upritchard, Peter Robinson, Rohan Wealleans, Richard Orjis and Geoffrey Heath. Karen Walker has donated jewellery to the value of $3,000, Crane Brothers have put up made-to-measure suit and Graeme Thomson Antiques and Estate Jewellery has contributed white gold diamond cluster earrings. A winter gourmet package from Eagles Nest Luxury treat will also be auctioned. Viewing of the works will be available at 3 Vernon St, Freemans Bay, Auckland on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 July from 11am to 3pm and on Thursday from 5pm onwards. The works will go under the hammer from 7pm sharp on Thursday night. All proceeds raised at For the Love of Art will directly benefit NZAF HIV prevention initiatives.
