Taylor Dayne records track for Gay Games

Sat 26 Jun 2010 In: International News View at Wayback

Taylor Dayne will belt out a new song, created expecially for the Gay Games in Cologne, at the opening ceremony next month. The pop star, best known for late 80s and early 90s tracks such as Love Will Lead You and Prove Your Love, will perform Facing a Miracle on July 31 in the RheinEnergie Stadium. Facing a Miracle was selected from entries submitted from around the world and written by a team from Sweden and The Netherlands. Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010 has also released the song on YouTube and will make it available on for sale on iTunes, with the proceeds to benefit the event. Gay Games organisers say Dayne has been a supporter of gay and lesbian rights for years, often agreeing to perform at annual LGBT pride festivals, helping to make her a figure with great relevance and social significance within the LGBT community. CEO of Games Cologne Annette Wachter says, "We are enthusiastic that an international artist like Taylor Dayne is supporting the sport and cultural event." Dayne recorded the vocals for the song a short time ago in California. She herself says, “My gay audience and followers are the most loyal and the most fun to perform for."
