OUTLine board gets a reshuffle

Peter Martin returns to the role of chair OUTLine has a new board of management, which will have the crucial first task of finding the Auckland-based support service a new office. Leaving the board are Chair Lorraine Martin, as well as board members Cynthia Borne, Hayden Oswin and Greg Chapman. Former Chair Peter Martin has been re-elected to the role, after several years as OUTLine's Treasurer. Among his priorities as Chair will be finding suitable premises for OUTLine, which is temporarily based in the New Zealand Aids Foundation's offices, after the lease at its longtime downtown Auckland premises was unexpectedly terminated. Martin says he also wants to reinforce OUTLine's phone support systems and work to retain members. "We have an experienced board with great staff and so I'm sure we're all up to the challenges confronting us." Martin is an arbitrator, mediator and dispute resolution practitioner who is a contract manager for Auckland City Council. The JP is also a business mentorand MYOB software supervisor for several organisations - and the independent secretary of three charitable trusts and one charitable company. Continuing to serve on the OUTLine board are Derryn Jakobi, Martin Fraser, Vaughan Meneses and Allyson Hamblett from Genderbridge. The new members are Clark Ehlers, Kelly (K1) Ellis and Jason Simpson. Shaughan Woodcock is expected to be co-opted onto the board as an independent at the next meeting. Woodcock works at the Mental Health Foundation and OUTLine says he will be an asset to the organisation. The Secretary and Treasurer posts will be filled at the board's next meeting. OUTLine is thanking the outgoing board members for their service.
