Jane Lynch and Lara Embry Jane Lynch, who plays the hilarious Sue Sylvester on Glee, has married her girlfriend Lara Embry. It's been speedy romance for the pair, who met at a fundraiser in San Francisco in May last year, where Lynch was a presenter and Embry was being honoured. Embry, a clinical psychologist, tells the New York Times she asked for a picture with Lynch because she "thought she was cute". Both say the say that the attraction between them was immediate and that their differing professions played no part in it. The pair exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony, with just 21 guests, at the Blue Heron Restaurant in Sunderland, Massachusetts. A friend of Lynch's reportedly thanked the State of Massachusetts for welcoming gay and lesbian couples. Earlier this month Lynch spoke with CBS Evening News host Katie Couric, saying Ellen DeGeneres, Melissa Etheridge and Rosie O'Donnell have all paved the way for her to be out in Hollywood. "It's not such a big deal anymore. I guess I really don't think about it. It's not like I have a strategy of how I'm going to dealing with my orientation. I'm kind of just very open about who I am." On the topic of people who can't accept gays, she said "There are some people who will never shift. And that's OK.
