Winner Tyler McCormick Mr Australia/New Zealand Leatherman 2009 Josh Burrows has competed at the International Mr Leather contest in Chicago, finishing in the top 20. Over 50 leather aficionados were on stage in the annual event. The contest was won by a transgender man who is also physically challenged - Tyler McCormick who represented New Mexico as Mister Rio Grande. Burrows was recently in Auckland to launch the Brookes Trust at Auckland's Urge Bar. The Brookes Trust was recently set up to promote positive leather lifestyle in the gay community in Australia and New Zealand. It is named after Patrick Brookes, the only Australasian to win the IML title back in 1980. Co-owner of Urge, Alan Granville, says Burrows was a fantastic representative for the Australasian leather community. "He is a genuinely lovely guy and we are delighted to see him finish in the top 20 in Chicago. He has promised to come back to New Zealand to judge the Mr Urge Leatherman contest in early August."
