Tonight the Women's Star Show party is being held at Iconic, on the corner of Manchester St and Gloucester St, with drag kings and the Twistee Twins taking to the stage. Women are encouraged to dress as their favourite star. Tomorrow the Q-Topia Queer Fair will take over the CPIT campus, with a celebrity cooking demo by Christchurch's Master Chef New Zealand contestant Carlos Garcia. Organisers are also promising a huge bake stall, drag queen racing, a kids movie tent and even a Q-Topia versus bears tug-of-war. Pride week t-shirts are on sale Tickets will be on sale at the fair for Saturday night's fantasy ball, which is being held at the Bedford and will include shows from Miss Mole, Miss Gloriousole, Little Miss Cinnamon and Miss Cindy. Pride week t-shirts are being sold at all the events for $25. Christchurch Pride organisers say there were more than 100 people at the Cultured Gallery on Monday night for the opening night Queer Takes exhibition. Works are on show from 15 different artists. The GLBT Business Association (GBA) hosted Bizwits on Tuesday night, with Mayor Bob Parker among the speakers. Coordinator Suzy Lawson says it was a successful, informative and fun event which has helped to further build the GBA profile.
