Second rentboy fingers anti-gay US preacher

Tue 11 May 2010 In: International News View at Wayback

A second gay escort has stepped forward to claim aggressively anti-gay American Baptist minister George Rekers paid him for gay sex. Rekers, 61, has made a national career of religious bigotry, campaigning throughout the USA against gay rights including adoption, and being an ardent ex-gay campaigner, promoting the belief that gays can and should be turned straight. Reker's week from hell started when it emerged last week that he had hired a 20-year-old male escort, Jo-Vanni Roman - aka Lucien, 'to attend to the luggage' on a Caribbean holiday. Rekers was photographed at Miami airport  attending to the pair's luggage himself and his explanations for hiring a gay rent boy have been described as risible. Roman now says he provided Rekers with daily body rubs in the nude while the pair vacationed, adding that Rekers liked having his anus rubbed by the younger man. “It's a situation where he's going against homosexuality when he is a homosexual,” Roman said. Former stripper, escort and adult actor Carl Sheperd, aka Chaz, now alleges Rekers paid him $150 for “vanilla sex” at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at Chicago's O'Hare airport in 1992. Sheperd claims Rekers told him: “I'm looking to spend an hour with a smooth young man for an intimate massage. Nude. I'm kinda vanilla – I just want light touching, not sex.”
