Gay sex on site venues around the country are pulling four brands of Chinese-manufactured 'herbal viagra' from their shelves after the capsules were found to have been spiked with a prescription drug. Government drug safety agency MedSafe has ordered the immediate recall of 'SZM Formula for Men,' 'Stallion,' 'Volcanic' and 'Tomcat Ali' which have all been discovered to have the prescription-only drug Tadalafil incorporated into the shell of the capsule to circumvent tests of the contents as carried out at NZ's borders. Tadalafil is the active ingredient in Cialis and is known to interfere with some heart medications. All four products listed an extract of the Malaysian plant Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma Longifolia Jack) as the main ingredient of their contents with no mention of Tadalafil. The Director General of Health says the 'rogue' practice of spiking the capsule shells may not be confined to just these four brands of sexual enhancement products. A Medsafe spokesperson says the drug watchdog became suspicious of the products after hearing reports of how remarkably effective they were. "It was clear that the active ingredients were being added to the capsule shells in order to evade detection," Dr Enver Yousuf said. All gay sex on site venue and adult shop operators who could be contacted today said they had already dropped the brands so far identified as being adulterated. "I'll be returning them to the distributors and requiring a full refund," says Gavin Sloane of GuyZ men's sauna in Hamilton. He says he is comfortable with continuing to sell several other brands as he believes they come from more reputable suppliers. The recalls come just months after the highly popular Mega-V brand of sexual enhancement pills was withdrawn due to what the distributors described as a moisture-contamination issue.
