A Tennessee high school student can now wear his I Love Lady Gay Gay t-shirt to school after he was sent home for being "disruptive." When Cole Goforth was sent home on April 5th for wearing the t-shirt he and his mother were told by the school that any pro-gay messages were “disruptive.” Goforth said he was the victim of daily harassment at school including threats of violence. He was told by one school employee that he had “brought [harassment] on himself by coming out.” The American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee and Lambda Legal say they have received assurances that a student wearing T-shirts printed with pro-gay slogans won’t be censored in future. The school will now train staff on the anti-bullying policy to avoid harassment of any student. //
