Chained White House protesters arrested

Wed 21 Apr 2010 In: International News View at Wayback

Washington DC police have arrested gay rights protestors who were opposing President Obama's slowness to act on policy regarding gays in the military. Lt Dan Choi and Capt Jim Pietrangelo, Petty Officer Larry Whitt, Petty Officer Autumn Sandeen, Cadet Mara Boyd and Cpl Evelyn Thomas had all chained themselves to the White House fence. The protest was organised by GetEqual, a group which advocates "bold action" to repeal the law which bans openly glbt people from serving in the American military. Yesterday, its activists heckled President Obama at a fundraiser.
