Contact details sought after donation box theft

Sat 3 Apr 2010 In: New Zealand Daily News View at NDHA

Staff of an Auckland city men's sauna believe they have identified the a young man who broke a charity collection box at the venue and disappeared with the money. Centurian sauna's Liam Slater says at least $150 would have been in the perspex box attached to the wall at the entrance to the sauna, money donated by customers for Body Positive. The theft occurred four weeks ago and was captured on security video footage. Slater says that after his image was circulated to other venues in the area staff have now been advised of the young man's likely name. Centurian is hoping to discover his contact details and hope to then "put the matter before the police." The alleged thief has in the past "been seen around the area" of Centurian, says Slater, but he is not believed to have been a regular customer. Centurian staff would like to hear as soon as possible from anyone who knows how to contact the person pictured above.
