What's happening this Easter weekend?

Fri 2 Apr 2010 In: Events View at NDHA

Although there are limited trading hours at most venues, there are a handful of events going ahead in the main centres this long weekend. So if you're not heading to the beach hoping to soak up that last drop of sun before daylight savings ends, or want somewhere to let your hair down after the family dinner and Easter egg hunt – here's a quick round-up of what's on. AUCKLAND: The gaynz.com forum is holding a meet-up at Kamo at 7pm on Saturday. Big Gay Day – Beresford Square will be transformed into a gay Mecca on Sunday for a street party from midday until 10.30pm. There is a $15 entry fee with $10 from each ticket going to Body Positive. GALS is hosting the Out and Loud Choral Festival, featuring choirs from across Australasia and North American at the Auckland Town Hall at 5pm on Sunday. Tickets from The Edge. Tickets have sold out to Urge's ever-popular Underware Party which starts at 12am Easter Monday. WELLINGTON: The Glamazons make their spectacular return, with a special licence granted to The Garden Club so it can stay open on after midnight on Saturday. Shows are at midnight and 1am - there will be no admittance after 1.30am due to licensing laws. CHURCH SERVICES/MEETINGS: Christchurch's Crave MCC meets at 5pm Sunday at the Nancy Ave Church. It is holding a service at 7pm Sunday. Auckland Community Church is holding a service at 7.30pm on Sunday at St Matthew in the City. Kitten Power - 2nd April 2010
