Catholic school kicks out lesbians' child

Sun 7 Mar 2010 In: International News View at Wayback

A Colorado, USA, school is denying admission to a pre-schooler because the child's parents are lesbians. The Archdiocese of Denver, which oversees the Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Boulder, says the child is living in a family which is in discord with the teachings of the church. A number of parents have temporarily withdrawn their children from the school in protest at the banning, which they say is punishing the child for the church's perception of the parents. One parent says she explained her protest to her own child by saying of the lesbian parents: ‘Do you think Jesus or God would say that you can’t love each other?’
