The Vatican is reeling from a gay sex scandal involving a senior aide to the Pope and a chorister, who are accused of being involved in a homosexual prostitution ring. Vatican scandal: The Pope Police investigators recorded conversations between the two men as part of an investigation into corruption involving the awarding of contracts to build public works. The senior aide was jailed as a result of the probe. The pair had sex together and hired male sex workers from an escort website, Italy's Panorama newspaper reports. The Catholic Church has traditionally condemned homosexuality is sinful and teaches that gay people are 'disordered'. Pope Benedict XVI has spoken out publically against gay people – and the use of condoms - several times.
