Air New Zealand's annual Pink Flight yesterday took hundreds of Kiwis to Sydney Mardi Gras, one of the world's biggest LGBT events.   Happy Mardi Gras! Kiwi visitors pose with Amanda Lepore Arriving in Sydney with the obligatory pillow-throwing fight, passengers grabbed their goodie bags to start their Aussie adventure. Many New Zealanders were seen at Oxford Street bars later in the evening.   Sunny start to Parade day   At a media conference this morning in the Hilton hotel ahead of the Mardi Gras Parade tonight, this year's Chief of Parade – New York transgender artist and entertainer Amanda Lepore – revealed what she'd be wearing to lead the progression: "I'll be as naked as possible, with a Rhinestone on my vagina."   With the theme Mardi Gras' History of the World, 2010's Parade will include well over 9,000 participants and 135 entries, building a colourful and bawdy romp through the ages.   New Mardi Gras CEO Michael Rolik describes the event as a "rich tapestry of the serious and the trivial, the sexy and the cutesy, the personal and the public message."   GayNZ.com is in Sydney to photograph tonight's parade and will feature galleries and commentary in coming days.
