UK police catch up with wanted HIV+ man

Thu 18 Feb 2010 In: International News

A gay British man who has spent three years on the run from police after being convicted for 'reckless transmission of HIV' has been caught and jailed. Jailed: Mark Jamess Mark James, 51, fled to France where he hid for three years. He had been sentenced to three years and four months' jail after he continued to have unprotected sex with his male partner despite testing positive for HIV and syphilis. "The victim of your offence has suffered a great deal of anxiety and stress while you enjoyed your undeserved freedom abroad," said Judge John Lowen in the Isleworth Crown Court this week, reports the Hounslow Chronicle.
