Preparations are well under way for Friday night's 2010 OurFest awards with 150 tickets sold for the formal function to recognise the achievements and contributions of glbt people to the Auckland community. Ticket sales have closed off and the ASB Lounge at Eden Park is being transformed for the night, says Kent Phillips, OurFest chairperson and event organiser for the awards. "Things are quite hectic at the moment. We're completely changing the look of the venue, so we’ll be there most of Thursday." Phillips believes the fully catered evening will generate "a feeling of excitement and celebration. While it's a formal recognition of the great work that various individuals and organisations have done in our communities over the past year, there's going to be a lot of fun too. With award-winning comedian Michele A'Court as the MC there'll be plenty of laughs, and a few surprises too."
