Gay BBC presenter admits mercy killing

A criminal investigation has been launched after a gay veteren BBC presenter admitted he smothered to death his partner who was dying of AIDS. Mercy killing: Ray Gosling During a 'share a secret' segment on the programme Inside Out, Ray Gosling, 71, said: "I killed someone once… He'd been my lover and he got AIDS. "I picked up the pillow and smothered him until he was dead… I have no regrets. I did the right thing," he added. "I said to the doctor: 'Leave me… just for a bit,' and he went away… The doctor came back and I said: 'He's gone.' Nothing more was ever said." Nottinghamshire police homicide detectives have now launched an investigation, but Gosling says he will not respond to their inquires about the incident "even under torture."
