More than forty young LGBT people from around New Zealand are expected to arrive in Nelson today where fine weather is expected for a weekend of workshops, discussions and nationwide network planning. Today's 'Future Building' meeting will unite LGBT youth workers and supporters "to help build up networks and shape the way our national community will grow in years to come," says Q-Youth, a community network supporting LGBT young people in schools around the Nelson and Blenheim area. The 'Link Together Hui' begins at 6pm tonight with a Powhiri and dinner at Te Awhina Marae in Motueka. Workshops and event topics will include relationships, group facilitation, meditation and spiritual conversations, internet safety and a preview of Curious - the new NZ AIDS Foundation-funded website for Kiwi youth. Further information about the Q-Youth events happening this weekend is available on the group's official website. The Link Together Hui is supported by the Get it On! campaign and Rainbow Youth, with generous grants from the NZ Lottery Grants Board and COGS.
