Christchurch's annual winter week of diverse LGBT events will return on 10-16 May this year. Despite bad weather throughout last May's Pride Week, the organisers say they were happy with the turnout and community response to the various events around the city. Well over 100 people visited the Fabulous Family Fun Day at Paparoa Primary School, and the Opening Party, Women's party and Fantasy Ball attracted hundreds of attendees. An open Chch Pride Week meeting to plan this year's Pride Week is set for Monday 1 February. The week's four key dates - the opening event, the family/fair day, the women's event and the closing party will be discussed. Christchurch Pride Week 2010 will be supported by the NZ AIDS Foundation's Get it On! safe sex campaign. For more information about planning for the week, or for details of how to include your idea for an event into the schedule, email Chch Pride Week committee member Anne Nicholson on tiggial@hotmail.com.
