Mon 18 Jan 2010 In: New Zealand Daily News

The Get it On! Big Gay Out LGBT picnic day in Auckland next month will see a busload of day trippers visit from Rotorua and Hamilton. The trip on Sunday 14 February will start at 8am for breakfast and coffee at Rotorua's Seismic Gastrobar. The bus will then take off at 9am sharp, planning to arrive at Hamilton's Shine bar on Victoria Street at 10:15am. After spending the day in Coyle Park, the bus will leave at 5pm for the after-party at K' Road's Family bar, then heads south again for Rotorua via Hamilton at 9pm. The trip has been organised by the Pink Outings organisation in Rotorua, which aims "to create a friendly social atmosphere organising trips for LGBT events," says organiser Tama Matene. The cost will be $60 per person, with seats sold on a 'first come, first served' basis. To book, email travel@pinkoutings.co.nz. The Get it On! Big Gay Out will feature a wide variety of LGBT community stalls, dance and drinking tents, activities and on-stage entertainment including songs from homegrown singer Annie Crummer.
