Aussie-based singing drag sensation Miz Ima Starr is bringing her one-woman cabaret show to Auckland's Aroha Festival in March. Miz Ima Starr x2 The Kiwi-born diva is used to the limelight in Melbourne and Sydney, but is rarely seen back in New Zealand. She appeared on TV's Australia's Got Talent show in 2007 and made it through to the semi-finals. Her show Hello Miss American Pie will be staged at the Galatos venue near K' Road. Spearheaded by takataapui entertainer Mika, the Aroha Festival is scheduled for 12-20 March as a takataapui cultural event showcase to coincide and compliment Pasifika Fest 2010. "We invite our Pakeha, Polynesian, Asian and Indian brothers and sisters to join a celebration that is only possible in Auckland," says Mika. "It will be an opportunity for New Zealanders from all walks of life and all backgrounds to celebrate their sexy uniqueness." The unique, nine-day Aroha Festival will be spread across a selection of large and small venues around Auckland, concluding with Mika's elaborate Põ - A Tribal Pop Opera show on Friday 12 March at the Aotea Centre.
