Tourism Dunedin is asking for names suitable for a chick being hatched by a pair of lesbian royal albatrosses nesting on Otago Peninsula. The chick is expected to hatch in January when its female parents will feed and nurture it. Once the chick becomes fully fledged and takes off on its first flight it will stay at sea for three to six years without touching land. Suggestions should be forwarded to Heather Mollins at Tourism Dunedin ( hmollins@tourismdunedin.co.nz ) who will arrange for the names to be passed on to the Royal Albatross Centre for consideration.
