Five people have complained to the Advertising Standards Authority over the NZ AIDS Foundation's Get it On 'dancing fingers' condom TV ad, but the watchdog's chief has OK'ed the sexual health message. Getting it on: A condomless finger is rejected in the NZAF's safe sex ad The Dominion Post reports that the complainants labelled the ad, which plays on TV after 8pm, as "offensive, unacceptable and breached decency". Others objected to its "sexual content." But the ASA's chairman said the ad was inoffensive and carried an important health message. The campaign was launched in September, with NZAF executive director Rachael Le Mesurier saying "Get it On! is a challenge to the whole country to commit to reducing HIV by supporting the gay and bisexual men in their lives to use condoms and lube every time they have anal sex. "Using the Get it On! logo and catch-phrase, the NZAF wants to support the move towards building a condom culture across the whole country." Watch the NZAF's Get it On! fingers ad below.
