The campaign's centrepiece is a free booklet, available from this week in stores and venues along K' Road and central Auckland, detailing the precinct's places to shop, eat, explore and party. The 'Gay K' Road' section of the booklet was provided by GayNZ.com, featuring quotes from our readers on why we love the famous - and often notorious - street. "On any given Friday night you may be surrounded by the strangest bunch of people, but that's the best thing," reads one quote. "Be it goth, gay, emo, straight, pro, or a tranny, everyone fits in. Because K' Road is Gay Road - it's home." "From the ordinary to the extraordinary, the key to this precinct is diversity," agrees the K' Road Business Association. "Eclectic inhabitants add colour and culture. K' Road has organically become an arts and events space as inspiration to, and meeting place of, many of New Zealand's most creatively brilliants people."
