Pollyfilla's back for whirlwind NZ fetish tour

Thu 5 Nov 2009 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

One of New Zealand's best known drag exports to Australia is excited to be returning to our shores for a whirlwind visit that will see her performing in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Flying in for fetish fun: Pollyfilla Pollyfilla, who now lives in Melbourne, will arrive in Auckland tomorrow to begin her tour with The NZ Fetish Ball. "I'm so hyped about returning to NZ to perform," she tells GayNZ.com. "I'll also be sharing the stage at Family bar with Miss Ribena on Friday night after 1am. I have something a bit different planned." Pollyfilla will be the Fetish Ball's hostess in Auckland this Saturday night and in Wellington and Christchurch next weekend. "I do a couple of performances myself, introduce each act and generally keep the punters whipped into a frenzy - literally!" she laughs. "We added Wellington to the tour last year, and that went really well so we've added Auckland this year," she explains. "This year will be the 12th anniversary of the NZ Fetish Ball, and I've been with it as hostess since 2004 - so it's been a long time coming to Auckland, but I know that the wait will be well worth it!" A range of international acts and DJs are confirmed for the Balls, where the dress code means jeans and a T-shirt will not get you entry: "Ideally you should be in some sort of Fetish attire - Harness, chaps, jockstrap, drag, latex, leather, or cybergoth," Polly explains. "But we have had people turn up as mermaids, smurfs and Xena before!"
