Neo-Nazi gay romance wins at Rome film fest

Tue 27 Oct 2009 In: International News

A Danish film about a gay love affair between two members of a violent neo-Nazi group has won top honours at the Rome Film Festival. Neo-Nazi love affair: A scene from 'Brotherhood' Brotherhood, the debut movie by 35-year-old Danish-Italian director Nicolo Donato, explores the surprising love affair between new recruit Lars and his neo-Nazi mentor Jimmy. "The two men become embroiled in a secret love affair, but such forbidden love cannot go unpunished in fascist circles," says Donato. "However, despite all the rules forbidding it, the love and sexual attraction between the two men is so strong that they cannot abandon their affair."
