Dot's bar will return bigger than ever

Mon 26 Oct 2009 In: New Zealand Daily News

The crew from Ponsonby Road's recently closed Dorothy's Sister bar will make Symonds Street more fabulous from late November. Dot's new logo Peter Taylor and his partner Rodney now hold the lease on 223 Symonds St, under the two big billboards next door to the Edinburgh Castle Hotel, and plan to have two levels open as a gay-friendly cocktail bar, gaming machine lounge and spacious function room upstairs called the 'Emerald Palace Room'. Big plans: Peter to complete our new fit out and hope to be ready for the grand opening on Thursday 26 November." Since closing their Ponsonby Road venue earlier this month with a big farewell party, the couple took a break to travel around the North Island visiting friends and family. "As we drove into the Auckland precinct we felt as if we had never left, but were excited about final negotiations for the new venue. So, yes, Dot's will live on in a new home, don't miss the grand opening!"
