Wellington will host one of the last official OUTLine October fundraising events this weekend, as the Capital crowns the newest Mr. Gay Wellington. The competition, being held at The Garden Club on Dixon Street this Sunday 25 October, will aim to raise as much cash as possible for the Auckland-based telephone service, even though Wellington has its own LGBT support line. "OUTLine do a very important job", says Mr. Gay Wellington organiser Andy Boreham. "It offers support on a national level so we want to do our bit to keep them a part of our community." Steve Gray from TVNZ's Good Morning will be the night's celebrity judge. "I'm more than happy to do my bit for what is a great cause", he says. "I hope we can send a good amount back to Auckland!" Mr. Gay Wellington organisers and hosts Aaron and Andy say all profits from the evening - including some special auctions - plus any cash raised from the collection buckets will be sent to OUTLine. "We're keeping production costs to a minimum, so that we can donate as much as possible, and we'll definitely be harassing everyone on Sunday night to donate what they can!" Mr. Gay Wellington will take place at The Garden Club at 13 Dixon Street, this Sunday 25 October from 8pm. Entry is $10, with a limited amount of seating for those in first.
