California's Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed a Bill creating an official annual day of recognition for assassinated gay activist Harvey Milk. Honoured: Harvey Milk Each 22nd of May will now be known as 'Harvey Milk Day', and schools across California will be encouraged to feature Milk's story in their lessons. Schwarzenegger had vetoed a similar Bill last year, but the attention Harvey Milk's life received after Sean Penn played him in the Milk movie helped change the Governor's mind. He also signed another Bill which ensured that same-sex marriages performed in California over the few months they could legally take place there are now still recognised with domestic partnership benefits.
