Murder at well-known Sydney beat

Tue 29 Sep 2009 In: International News View at NDHA

Police are appealing for calm after a body was found at a well-known gay beat in Sydney's Centennial Park at the weekend. 37-year-old Anthony Cawsey's bloodied body was found lying face down on a jogging track early on Saturday morning. The authorities, who believe the attack may have been an anti-gay bashing, are now reminding Sydney men to take care in secluded and dimly-lit areas, and are asking for witnesses to come forward anonymously with information which could shed light on the attack. Inspector Paul Pisanos told the Daily Telegraph that police are pursuing "all avenues of enquiry, not exclusive to it being a sex-related homicide".
